Levan Dzhioev advises and defends clients in criminal proceedings before Russian courts.
Prior to joining the Firm, Levan was employed as an assistant attorney at Padva & Partners, Zakon i Pravo International Bar Association, and as an assistant to senior forensic investigator at the Military Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Podolsk Garrison.
Through his employment background, Levan has gained an extensive experience of liaising with attorneys a large number of issues under the client defense at all stages of criminal proceedings.
His experience include:
- Defending the interests of the former chairman of the RusHydro Management Board, Evgeny Dod, who was accused of defrauding the company to the amount of RUB 73m. This is a rare example of a liability case involving a former manager of a state corporation and calling into question actions, which are a common feature of the decision-making process in other government-sponsored organizations.
- Representing an Austrian-Ukrainian company qualified as a victim in the criminal proceedings over a fraudulent theft of its 24 apartments in the Russian Federation (all the 24 apartments have now been taken back to the company’s ownership).
- Representing a large Russian bank under criminal proceedings and pre-investigative checks done by three law-enforcement bodies in a row over a fraudent major theft of funds.
Levan graduated from the Kutafin Moscow State Legal Academy with honours (2010) and was qualified as a legal professional.
Levan is currently doing his post-graduate studies in Corporate Finance at the Financial University at the Russian Government.
He is a member of the Moscow Bar Association.
Levan is fluent in English.
